One year later…still no progress…

FOLLOW US SHARINGWell, it’s been almost a year and I still have not stepped foot in my garage. I figured I would take this opportunity to take a few videos and post them online with the target of what I am trying to achieve. After all, it is called a dream. In looking around the web, I did find some project which match what I m looking at doing with my car as soon as I have the time to tackle it again. Here is one at Mustangs to Fear. they did a good job with the car, including the Custom […]

Installing the rear-end suspension and new axle

FOLLOW US SHARINGThe rear-end is in…yay… Nice on the rear axle. the powder coating turned out great and the suspension fits nicely. Here are some pictures. Took a while to install, the darn thing is too heavy and there is no room in my garage to navigate and align. the rear suspension from R&C was perfect though. I still have the cross member to fit, but will wait until the engine and drivetrain assembly are in so I can align the angle before I bolt it in. Other than that, pretty straight forward. Once this is in and done, i will […]

Front Power Disk Brake Installation

FOLLOW US SHARINGWith the suspension in place, it was time to get to the brake assembly. I had spent some time online and talking to Roger at Rod and Custom to make sure I get the right setup to work with the suspension I had just installed. I decided to go with Wilwood. you can’t go wrong with a reputable company. A little pricier than other options, but I preferred the piece of mind rather than cost for selecting the brake assembly. The front kit I went with is the Forged Narrow Superlite 6R Big Brake Front Brake Kit (Hub and […]

Installing the Independent Front Suspension (IFS) and the Rack and Pinion Steering

FOLLOW US SHARINGNow that everything is setup, I am going to go ahead and install the front suspension. Like I said in earlier posts, the documentation was very well written and clear. So it is a matter of having the right tools and going through the instructions. Few things missing which I was missing when I started, I was able to get at Amazon. Loctite and a nicer torque wrench than the one I had. I went with a TEKTON. Nice tool, does the job, comes in a hard plastic case for storage when you are not using it. The rest […]

Getting the front suspension

FOLLOW US SHARINGAlright! after many hours of research on which suspension to get, I opted to go with the Rod and Custom RC-107 kit. It comes ready for the Coyote, which makes it easier for me to setup the car for the new engine. Description from Rod & Custom website This kit supplies you with all parts and hardware needed to completely convert your vehicle from the existing OE suspension to the late model rack and pinion that will improve handling, braking and solve needed clearance issues associated with installing the larger V8 engines into these shock towered vehicles. The main features of […]
